Tae Kwon Do Vital Points

Aiming at Tae Kwon Do vital points may allow you to cause paralysis, unconsciousness or death.  They may cause nerve damage and your attacker to experience nausea, headaches, and/or disorientation.

At Oh Do Kwon Tae Kwon DoTazewell Tae Kwon Do we teach our students under the careful and expert instruction by our experienced instructors.  We share this information to properly educate our students about the body and general Tae Kwon Do practices.  There are 280 or more vital points on the body.  This is only a primer.

The impact on vital points is indicated by numbers as followed:

  1. Moderate pain
  2. Sharp pain
  3. Severe pain
  4. Unconsciousness or temporary paralysis
  5. Fatal

The body has about 280 vital points so this list is far from complete.

Wow, I didn’t realise that there were such specific vital point spots. My daughter tried tae kwon do when she was younger. She had to drop out because of an injury, but she definitely didn’t learn about any of these. That spot on the thumb is the most interesting to me.
