Oh Do Kwon Tae Kwon Do

Oh Do Kwon Tae Kwon Do - Tazewell Tae Kwon DoOh Do Kwon Tae Kwon Do℠ also known as Tazewell Tae Kwon Do℠ was started in Tazewell, Virginia around 2005 by Grandmaster Roy Richmond℠. It is the sister dojo to Bluefield, West Virginia-based, Richmond Tae Kwon Do.

Oh Do Kwon translates of the “the school of our way” in the Korean language. The name is derived from one of the orgininal “kwans” or schools, Oh Do Kwan, founded in 1955 by Choi Hong Hi, Nam Tae, Hi and Han Cha Kyo. Oh Do Kwon uses a spelling variation on the Korean word “kwan”.

Grandmaster Roy Richmond who began his study of martial arts in the Tae Kwon Do discipline was so inspired by the Oh Do Kwan’s initial beginnings as a school for the Republic of Korea Army’s Physical Training Program and its civilian adaptation that he created Oh Do Kwon Tae Kwon Do also known more commonly as Tazewell Tae Kwon Do and Tazewell Tae Kwon Do “Dawg” Pound℠ around Tazewell, Virginia.

The 2020 Grandmaster Roy Richmond Legacy Tournament is in its ninth year and is again presented by Oh Do Kwon Tae Kwon Do – Tazewell Tae Kwon Do and under the direction of owner, Keshia Richmond.
